Figure 7: A 65-year-old patient who underwent esophagectomy and chemoradiation for adeno-carcinoma of esophagus, now presented with pain the in upper back. Technetium-99m methylene diphosphonate bone scan showed increased tracer uptake in contiguous dorsal vertebrae (D7-10) with no other focal hot spot. As the methylene diphosphonate uptake was coming at the site of radiation port, this was interpreted as radiotherapy induced insufficiency fractures and the patient was managed conservatively. The patient is fine after a follow-up of 2 years
